My story

The idea comes from my own experience. At thirteen, almost by chance, I chose a language school — and that is where I started learning Chinese. Until you really try something, you cannot know whether it is not for you or whether you will love it.

In my first year of high school I struggled badly with Chinese. At one point I even thought about quitting it entirely. At the start of my second year I began using flashcards — that method changed everything and helped me improve enormously.

In my fourth year I passed HSK 3 with a high score. But it was not a straight path: while preparing for the exam, with many commitments and rewards that felt far away, there was a moment when I thought about giving up. I am still studying for the next HSK levels — and I built HSKacer to share the tool that helped me most.

Built by a student, for students

HSKacer is a tool built by a student for students. It does not come from a company selling a generic course — it comes from someone who actually studies Chinese, knows what preparing for HSK feels like, and built the tool they wished they had at the start.

I cannot promise miracles: every mind is different. But I share a method that worked for me, in the hope it can help you too.

Short sessions, anytime

I designed HSKacer for short sessions: 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes is enough. You do not always need a long study block. You can review in spare moments — on the bus or train, at lunch, during a break, or while waiting for someone.

A few minutes, repeated often, makes study lighter and more sustainable over time.

The flashcard method

I built this site around my personal flashcard study method. Flashcards worked extremely well for me — they are the reason I improved so much in Chinese.

Since this approach helped me, I thought it might help many other students too. That said, I cannot guarantee it will work for everyone in the same way. This is simply the study method that suited my mind — it may help many others, but results will vary from person to person.

Chinese is more than vocabulary

Learning Chinese is not only about memorizing words. HSKacer can help you learn and retain a large amount of vocabulary thanks to efficient flashcards — but this method does not fully replace structured Chinese study at school or in a course.

If you want to speak Chinese and hold real conversations, knowing words is not enough: you need to know how to use that vocabulary, understand grammar, and express ideas clearly. HSKacer does not offer Chinese texts to practice with or videos for listening and speaking — but we strongly recommend those activities alongside vocabulary study.

I see HSKacer as a support tool for studying Chinese. Remembering many words matters a great deal — and with that vocabulary, combined with proper grammar, you will be able to express ideas, hold conversations, and do much more.

Product philosophy

HSKacer should be simple, fast, and focused on HSK vocabulary. It is meant to be opened every day — even for just a few minutes — so you can improve steadily without feeling you must study for hours every time.

HSKacer is not a finished project: it keeps growing over time, also thanks to feedback from students who use it.
